Jim Garrison: Interview with Playboy Magazine in 1967
Jim Garrison’s interview with Eric Norden is a very rare example of a relatively mainstream publication allowing a critical view of the JFK assassination to be expressed at length and without misrepresentation.
In 2011, when this website was set up, Playboy magazine either did not have a website or, if it did, its website did not include the interview, which was available online only at the somewhat eccentric http://www.maebrussell.com/ site and, for some reason, at a holocaust-denial website. The interview was reproduced here in correctly formatted HTML, suitable for humans to read and search engines to find.
Playboy magazine now has a website which contains the interview, although it is available only to subscribers: https://www.playboy.com/magazine/articles/1967/10/playboy-interview-jim-garrison/. For this reason, the HTML version of the interview has not been included in the 2026 revamp of the 22november1963.org.uk website. Anyone interested in reading the HTML version may be able to find it at the Wayback Machine.
At the time of writing, photographic reproductions of Playboy’s Garrison interview are freely available as PDFs (c. 5 MB) from two sources:
- The CIA has deemed the article suitable for public consumption: https://www.cia.gov/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP75-00149R000300040043-1.pdf.
- A better-quality reproduction, which includes the magazine’s original cartoons and advertisements: https://tangodown63.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/playboy-interview-1967.pdf. Incidentally, the https://tangodown63.com/ website contains a good deal of other useful information about the assassination.
