Evidence Against Oswald
Here are some articles in the JFK Assassination Questions section which deal with evidence against Lee Harvy Oswald:
Did Oswald Carry a Bag of Curtain Rods to Work?
According to Buell Frazier, who drove Oswald to work on the morning of the assassination, Oswald said that the bag he carried contained curtain rods. Oswald apparently denied this to the police, and claimed that the bag contained his lunch. According to the Warren Commission, the bag contained a rifle.
Did Oswald Kill Officer J.D. Tippit?
Around 40 minutes after the assassination in Dealey Plaza, a policeman was shot dead in a suburb of Dallas. The official verdict was that Officer JD Tippit had been shot by Lee Harvey Oswald.
Did Oswald Leave Any Fingerprints?
There was a pile of book cartons close to the sixth-floor window from which some of the shots were fired. Two of the cartons contianed partial fingerprints and palmprints of Lee Harvey Oswald, whose job required him to move cartons of books by hand. More incriminating were partial prints of Oswald on the rifle found elsewhere on the sixth floor.
Did Oswald Shoot at General Edwin Walker?
The Warren Commission declared that Lee Harvey Oswald had attempted to shoot Edwin Walker, a retired general and right-wing political figure, in April 1963. Several aspects of the evidence suggested that Oswald had had nothing to do with the shooting.
Did Oswald Try to Kill Richard Nixon?
Marina Oswald told the authorities that her late husband had intended to shoot Richard Nixon, the former vice-president, on a visit to Dallas early in 1963. The story failed to convince even the Warren Commission, which could have used it as evidence of Oswald’s murderous intentions.
How Reliable is the Neutron Activation Analysis Evidence?
Paraffin casts of Oswald’s hands and right cheek, along with fragments of bullets from President Kennedy and Governor Connally, were subjected to neutron activation analysis on behalf of the House Select Committee on Assassinations. The HSCA relied heavily on this evidence when claiming that Oswald had fired three shots from a rifle during the assassination. The scientific analysis was later shown to be faulty.

Was CE 399, the ‘Magic Bullet,’ Planted?
The Warren Commission claimed that Commission Exhibit 399, sometimes known as the magic bullet, had injured both President Kennedy and Governor Connally before falling out of Connally’s thigh onto a stretcher at Parkland Hospital. Later interviews suggested that CE 399 was not the bullet that was discovered on the stretcher.
Was Oswald an Expert Marksman?
While in the Marines, Oswald had been trained in using a rifle, although his final test in 1959 found him to be officially “a rather poor shot.” There is no good evidence that he fired a rifle after he left the Marines later that year.
Was the TSBD Sixth-Floor Paper Bag Genuine?
A home-made paper bag was said to have been discovered on the floor next to the sixth-floor window. Although the bag contained partial prints from Oswald, there are reasons to doubt its authenticity: several of the earliest police officers to search that area claimed not to have seen such a bag, and the bag was missing from all the crime scene photographs.

What Is the Magic Bullet Theory?
The famous single-bullet theory is the notion that one bullet, Commission Exhibit 399, caused all of President Kennedy and Governor Connally’s non-fatal injuries. The term ‘magic bullet theory’ is the same thing, but with emphasis on the unlikely claim that CE 399 not only caused all these injuries but did so without sustaining any real damage.
Who Saw Oswald in the Sixth-Floor Window?
A number of witnesses in Dealey Plaza noticed a gunman in one or other window on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, but most of their descriptions did not match that of Lee Harvey Oswald.
Why Did Oswald Kill President Kennedy?
The Warren Commission was unable to provide Oswald with a plausible motive for shooting President Kennedy. Indeed, many of those who knew Oswald claimed that he admired Kennedy both as a person and as a politician.
