How Accurate is Oliver Stone’s Film, JFK?

Oliver Stone’s JFK deals reasonably and fairly with the main issues of President Kennedy’s assassination, including: Oswald’s location during the shooting, the single-bullet theory, connections between Oswald and US intelligence, and the purpose of the Warren Commission. The media claimed that the film was inaccurate, but it is the media’s coverage that lacks accuracy.

Who Were the Dealey Plaza Tramps?

Several news photographs showed three tramps being escorted by the police through Dealey Plaza about two hours after the assassination. The film JFK repeated the suggestion that the tramps may have been part of a conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy. As a result of this publicity, some researchers took a closer look at the Dallas police’s records, and in 1992 the men’s identities were revealed. They were just tramps.

Why Was President Kennedy Assassinated?

The reasons for the assassination will depend on who was responsible for the assassination, something that is still up for debate. Was it: Oswald, the Cuban or Soviet regimes, anti-Castro Cubans, the mafia, factions within the CIA and the US military, or some other group? Oliver Stone gives his opinion in the film.
